I’ve always loved pickup lines. Not because they work (most of the time they don’t, guys, seriously) but because they are funny to hear and sometimes they’re actually pretty clever.

So I’ve been hunting around the web looking for good collections of pickup lines for girls. There are some good lists here and there but not a mega list of hundreds of pickup lines all in one place. So I thought I’d throw this site up and see if I can get the guys and girls of the interwebs to help me compile a monster list of pickup lines for girls.

I know I just mentioned that pick up lines don’t work. Honestly, that’s kind of not true. Pick up lines do work on girls, but not the kind of pickup lines you hear most guys joking about with their friends or saying when they’re hammered. Most of those lines are going to do nothing but guarantee you’re going home alone...and if the girl you use it on does go for it, you might want tot think twice about taking her home in the first place ;)

Real pickup lines for girls, lines that will actually get and keep a girl’s attention, are hard to come by. You know why? Because they’re impossible to write down. You have to make them happen on the spot. The trick to using a good pickup line is to adapt one of the stupid lines you read on this website to a specific situation and make yourself sound funny and intelligent. Do that right and you’ve got her attention. Don’t just come up and say something stupid like, “Hey baby, do you have a mirror in your pants? Cause I can see myself in them!” and grin at her like an idiot. If you’re lucky the girl won’t throw her drink in your face and spike your foot with her high heel. (Think about it guys, wouldn’t you do the same thing if you were in her shoes and a guy came up to you and said something retarded like that?

So say you’re at a party and you have a girl in your sights. You want to drop a line to her so you walk up to her and start a conversation. You pick a topic that will help you drop the line in a couple minutes after you have her talking. (You don’t want to do the talking. You get her to open up to you.) So you tell her that she’s dressed nicely for the party and ask if she meant to match her clothes with the drapes or whatever sh*t you say to get her going. Then after a couple minutes you say something like, ‘You know, I was thinking about what you might do for a living before we started talking. And I guessed you might be an interior decorator.” She’ll say, “Why is that?” And then you drop your line: “Well the first time I noticed you, this room suddenly became a lot more beautiful to me.”

What’s the difference here? You started a conversation with an innocent topic that moved nicely into your pickup line. You didn’t come off corny right away. And because you waited a bit to drop your line, she thinks you might have thought of it right on the spot after talking to her about her clothes and the colors in the room.

Is this a powerful strategy for picking up girls? Yes, it can be. Sometimes it’s the right thing to do, and sometimes it’s going to land you a big fat nothing. The point is, pickup lines for girls have to be put into some kind of context for them to stand a chance of working. And this means that you have to be a quick thinker to know what lines to use and when to use them.

And by the way guys, I haven’t mentioned anything about the things you should really be concerned with when you want to pick up girls. You need to think about paying attention to your body language, sharpening your wit, and most importantly, building your confidence. Get these three things down and you won’t need pick up lines for girls. Girls will be chasing you around, not the other way around.
